Blue Marigold

William Morris (1834–1896) was a British designer, writer, and social reformer who became a leading figure in the Arts and Crafts Movement. He is best known for his richly detailed patterns used in textiles, wallpapers, and books, inspired by nature and medieval art. Morris believed that art should be both beautiful and functional, and he worked to restore the value of craftsmanship during the rise of industrial mass production.

A passionate advocate for social change, Morris combined his artistic vision with political activism, promoting ideals of equality, craftsmanship, and community. He also founded the Kelmscott Press, which produced some of the most beautiful books of the 19th century.

Morris’s legacy continues to influence modern design, interior decoration, and the idea that art can improve everyday life.
