Watanabe Seitei (1851–1918) was a Japanese painter and printmaker known for blending traditional nihonga (Japanese-style painting) with influences from Western art. He is celebrated for his delicate and refined kachō-ga paintings of birds and flowers where he brought an elegant naturalism to classical subjects.
Seitei was among the first Japanese artists to travel to Europe after Japan reopened to the West in the late 19th century.
