Kamisaka Sekka (1866–1942) was a Japanese artist and designer renowned for revitalising traditional Rimpa art in the modern era. One of his most famous works, Momoyogusa (A World of Things), showcases his ability to fuse elegance and innovation, presenting nature, folklore, and everyday objects with decorative flair and modern sensibility. Sekka played a key role in preserving Japanese artistic traditions while pushing them into the 20th century.

His influence extended beyond Japan, inspiring movements in graphic design, illustration, and contemporary visual culture. Today, Sekka is celebrated as a visionary who bridged the past and future, making him a vital figure in both Japanese art history and global design.
