Greyhound

Moriz Jung (1885–1915) was a brilliant Austrian illustrator and a member of the Wiener Werkstätte (Vienna Workshop), a key force in early 20th-century design. Known for his playful, often humorous works, Jung created designs that combined fine artistry with practical applications—particularly in postcards, packaging, and posters. His ability to distil form and character into sharp, expressive compositions made him a standout talent in the Viennese Secession movement.

“Greyhound” reflects both Jung’s deep appreciation for animals and his mastery of visual economy. Sadly, his artistic career was cut tragically short when he died during World War I, but works like this remain powerful examples of early modern graphic design, where illustration meets elegant abstraction.

"Bulldog" captures not only his artistic flair but also his gift for character and mood, combining modern graphic techniques with a distinct personality. It stands as a vivid example of early graphic design evolving into art in its own right.
